This is called from the drop-down list top right of a Gallery's window:
The drop-down lists all the Catalogue's Saved Views and allows:
To ensure all buttons are active select an entry from the list. The following options are available:
What exactly gets saved in a saved view?
The view records the customisation of all three views (Thumbnail, List, Record) and which view is active. The Gallery's current saved options are not included. Font type/style, font colour and background colour are OS-specific settings and cannot be set for both OS's without the view being applied and saved in both OSs.
The Saved View is stored in the Catalogue but may be stored externally by the export method shown above. It appears that the saved views files (.PVW) are not transferable cross-OS so do not try to use this method to share views across platforms. If necessary, save the view into an empty catalogue and pass that to the user on the other OS.
