Portfolio 6.0.3 was created for use of the Pro Photo Raw Image Filter, which is automatically installed with Portfolio 6.0.3. (See below for more info on the filter.) This version of Portfolio resolves a bug associated with previewing and zooming in on Raw images. If you do not plan to use the Pro Photo Raw Image Filter, you do not need to upgrade to Portfolio 6.0.3. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ What is the Pro Photo Raw Image Filter? The Pro Photo Raw Image Filter allows Portfolio 6 to import, thumbnail and preview the "Raw" unprocessed image files generated by specific high-end cameras from Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, Canon and Fuji. (See supported camera list below for models supported.) With the filter, Portfolio 6 can extract EXIF metadata from the Raw files, create thumbnails for displaying the images in catalogs, and generate low-resolution JPEG previews on the fly. The filter does not allow conversion of Raw files into other formats, but does allow users to view thumbnail and low-res previews of Raw files in Portfolio in order to organize, sort, keyword and archive images. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Supported Cameras The following cameras and file formats are supported: Nikon D1/X/H/100 Fuji S2Pro Olympus E10/20 Kodak 14N, 760C, 760M, 720X, Pro Back, Pro Back 654C, Pro Back 654M Canon D30/60/10D,G5, G3, G2, G1, S50, S45, S40, S30, Pro90IS If your camera is not listed, it may not be supported at this time. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ System Requirements Windows Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP Pentium MMX Dual CPU processor or faster recommended Minimum of 384 Megs RAM Recommendations Minimum RAM listed above is recommendation only. Simply select "Ends With" from the pull down menu and enter the file extension ".thm". See the Portfolio 6 User Guide, page 28, for further details. Using the slideshow feature. Performance issues and/or freezing may occur when using arrow keys while viewing a timed slideshow. This will be addressed in the next release of Portfolio. When using jpegs saved from Photoshop 4.0, users should generate thumbnails for these files; otherwise you may get incorrect colors on your thumbnails. When previewing Raw Files you may get incorrect dimension sizes when viewing by pixels. To resolve this, you can change the dimension size in Image Dimensions in your Preferences. When previewing images, the image is fit to the size of the window that is open, and in some cases this may zoom the image to a size that is beyond optimal quality.
